Thursday, June 30th, 2005Lynn, at Carolina Bait and Tackle, reports that the flounder fishing continues to improve each week. They saw several fish over 5 lbs. caught this week, and overall the keeper ratio has been getting better. Two areas that had flounder this week were Shackleford banks and around the high rise bridge. Go with mud minnows and mullet minnows. Trout are in the area, with specks being caught at Beaufort Inlet and grays being caught in the creeks and rivers.
In the surf, there are some spots and blues. There have been lots of sharks and rays hooked in the surf. Trolling just off the beach is getting spanish and blues.
Small kings are at the AR’s. Expect the majority of them to be 4 to 8 lbs. The dolphin are 10 to 12 miles out, and their sizes are mixed right now.
