Angler Trer Irvine, fishing aboard the Ft. Lauderdale boat "Mimi" with Capt. Mike King, of Kure Beach, caugh this pending NC state record blue marlin during the Pirate's Cove Big Game Tournament. The 1228.5 lb. marlin eclipsed the former 1142 lb. state record and earned the crew nearly $500,000.
