Want to catch more fish more often in 2008?
Fisherman's Post Newspaper, the free publication that covers all the saltwater fishing action along the Carolina coast, will be hosting its third annual full-day Saltwater Fishing School on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington from 7:30 am-5:00 pm.
This year’s Fisherman’s Post Saltwater Fishing School is staffed by more than 12 local captains who will share their experience and insights on inshore, nearshore, offshore, and blue water fishing. They’ll cover a range of topics that include techniques, equipment, strategy, locations, terminal tackle, electronics, bait, etc.
The captains selected for the Saltwater Fishing School are specialists in their field, and their backyard waters include Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Sneads Ferry, Topsail, Swansboro, Southport, Oak Island, and Morehead City.

There will be main seminars and several rigging stations going on concurrently all day long, so you will always be able to find a session that interests you.
The main seminars will have three captains working together to thoroughly cover their particular subject material, as well as give their different perspectives on what works for them.
The rigging stations are smaller and hands-on, with participants tying and making the rigs themselves. And the best part of the rigging stations—most of the rigs you'll get to keep and take home. The rigging stations are supplied by Tex's Tackle and our many tackle manufacturer sponsors, so you'll leave the Saltwater Fishing School with complimentary terminal tackle. You learn the rigs. You make the rigs. You keep the rigs.
The cost of the school is $90 in advance or $100 at the door. In addition to the full day of learning and interacting with our captains, the price includes breakfast, snacks, drinks, a BBQ lunch, and a goodie bag stocked with a free Fisherman’s Post t-shirt and tackle samples.
You can pick up your tickets in person in Wilmington, NC, at Tex's Tackle or Boater’s World. You can also order them from Fisherman's Post Newspaper over the phone at (910) 452-6378. Or you can mail in a check to Fisherman’s Post, 1314 Audubon Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28403.
