All fish must adhere to state and federal regulations to qualify
for winnings in this tournament.
The tournament's entry fee places your boat in both categories-flounder
and speckled trout.
The tournament's entry fee allows you to have as many anglers
on your boat as you'd like (within safety limitations).
The one fishing day is Saturday, May 17. The tournament will reserve
the right to hold Sunday, May 18, as an optional foul weather day.
There are no check-outs.
Fish must be caught during tournament hours. No lines in the water
until after 6:00 a.m.
All boats must show their boat number to the check-in boats by 4:00
p.m. The two check-in boats will be at the entrance of the No Wake
Zone signs just to the south and north of the WB Bridge.
Scales will open at 1:00 p.m. at Wrightsville Beach Marina. No weigh-ins
allowed before 1:00 p.m.
All fish weighed in will become the property of the Spring Inshore
Challenge.
Any angler, if directed by the tournament committee, must submit
to a polygraph test. This decision is at the sole discretion of the
tournament committee. Should the test be failed, the tournament committee
reserves the right to forfeit all winnings awarded to the winner in
question
All protests made to the tournament committee shall be accompanied
by a $200 cash deposit. All protests shall be made no later than one
hour after the last fish has been weighed. The $200 cash deposit will
be returned if the tournament committee upholds the protest. The $200
cash deposit will become the property of the Spring Inshore Challenge
if the protest is not upheld. All decisions of the tournament committee
shall be final.
Each of the two TWTs (tournament within a tournament) has a payout
ratio of 1st—50%, 2nd—30%, and 3rd—20%. Participants
in the tournament are not required to enter the TWT. It is offered
as another way for you to win money.
Prizes are awarded solely on the basis of fish weight. In the event
of identical weights, the first fish weighed shall be declared the
winner.
All boats must meet USCG inspection and safety requirements.
All fish must be caught on hook and line.
All fish must be weighed in from the boat in which they were caught.
No overland transport to the weigh station will be allowed. A crewmember
must accompany fish to weigh-in.
By signing the entry form, the captain and crew, etc. consent that
the Spring Inshore Challenge may use without payment or restrictions
any photographs in which he or she appears for any purpose whatsoever,
including but not limited to resale, advertising, commercial, or promotional
material.
Two or more boats seen congregating will be disqualified from the
tournament.
This tournament does not have any boundaries; however, there are
a few restricted areas. A boat may not fish Sunny Point, the CP&L
intake wall, and/or within 100 yards of Wrightsville Beach Marina.
A boat may make landfall to discharge passengers, equipment, or
other items. However, no person and no thing may be put on the boat
regardless if the boat is making landfall or not.
All fish will be received and inspected by the terms of the weigh
master.
No cut or mutilated fish will be accepted.
A boat may only weigh in one flounder and one trout. A boat is eligible
to win once in the flounder category and once in the trout category,
but a boat may not win more than once in the same category.
A boat is also eligible to win more than one secondary prize.
The Junior Angler must be 14 years of age or younger and must accompany
the fish to the scales.
The Lady Angler must accompany the fish to the scales.
The Senior Angler must be at least 60 years of age and must accompany
the fish to the scales.
The Aggregate Awards go to the heaviest weigh in total of one flounder
and one trout. Aggregate Awards will only be given to boats that weigh-in
both a flounder and a trout.
All captains and crewmembers are responsible for reading and following
all rules and regulations set forth by the Spring Inshore Challenge.
