Yes, Fisherman’s Post is hosting its popular saltwater fishing schools in early 2021, but this eleventh year of hosting the schools will have to look different than the ten years prior. We’ve modified our saltwater fishing schools in 2021 to address Covid concerns.
Now you can attend the schools in-person or online via live stream.
In early 2021, no one wants to be in a big convention center with 400+ people, so we will be hosting three weekends of much smaller schools in Morehead City, and each of the three weekends will offer three different half-day programs full of great information. While the Morehead City In-Person schools will be hosted in the big boat showroom of Starling Marine, for each weekend and for each half day school, we will also be selling Live Stream tickets so you can avoid any contact and watch remotely. We will be separately selling a half day Live Stream ticket for Saturday morning, a half day Live Stream ticket for Saturday afternoon, and a half day Live Stream ticket for Sunday mid-morning.
Each weekend will offer a different array of session topics, so you will be able to select the half day (or half days) that most interests you.
And the captains and guides for this year’s schools have once again been selected because they are great communicators with an interest in and a passion for helping others get more out of their fishing time on the water. During each of the three Live Stream presentations, the captains and guides will be focusing on a specific type of fishing and covering such topics as location, techniques, equipment, strategy, changing seasons, options depending on the conditions, terminal tackle, electronics, bait, etc.
The captains selected for the Morehead Saltwater Fishing Schools are specialists in their field, and their backyard waters include Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, Beaufort, Swansboro, Emerald Isle, Harkers Island, Hatteras, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Sneads Ferry, and Topsail.
The Morehead weekends in 2021 are January 30-31, February 20-21, and March 13-14.
The Saturday morning sessions are from 7:30 am – 12:00 noon, the Saturday afternoon sessions are from 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm, and the Sunday mid-morning sessions are from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm.
Each half day session will include three one-hour presentations where 2-3 captains/guides share their knowledge and insights on specific types of fishing. The half day Live Stream ticket will gain you access to all of the information that the in-person ticket holders experience, plus the Live Stream will be captured on video so that you can watch again and again for months following the half day Live Stream.
If you would like to attend the Live Stream school experience, the half day Live Stream ticket price is $20 per person. Once we get your ticket order, we will email you your personalized login instructions.
If you would rather not attend Live Stream and would prefer to attend in person, the in-person ticket price for a half day session is $45 per person. You can click here for more detailed information on what the in-person ticket price includes: Morehead In-Person Tickets.
And whether you choose to attend in person or choose to view via live stream, all school participants will receive a link following the session where they can watch the recording of their half day session as many times as they wish (until May 31). So now you don’t have to worry about missing anything, forgetting information, or even bother with taking notes during the school–you can watch and review again and again at your convenience.

The main tackle sponsor for all of the Morehead schools is Chasin’ Tails Outdoors. Chasin’ Tails Outdoors will have the tackle shop open following all of our half day sessions so that live stream and in-person participants can shop and purchase the items that they were just introduced to, and the Chasin’ Tails Outdoors staff will work with the captains and guides in advance to make sure they have the appropriate tackle available. In addition, all school participants receive a discount the weekend of the school, and they will also receive a school coupon to save while shopping for up to a month following the school.

There is plenty of parking at Starling Marine.
To maintain the safety of our guests, captains, and staff, we ask everyone to practice social distancing and wear a mask when walking in the building and then keep the mask on through registration and until you get to your seats (you will keep the same seats for the entirety of your half day session). We also ask that you wear a mask when you leave your seats between sessions when grabbing a drink or a snack, some fresh air, or if you need to use the restrooms.
