Spring Inshore Challenge Welcome

WELCOME

Welcome to the 2013 Wrightsville Beach Inshore Challenge. Fisherman’s Post is now in our tenth year of hosting the event (has it really been that long since Jason Frazier and Barry Yopp got lucky enough to win?), and we enjoy it more every year.

We’re looking forward to seeing all the friends we’ve made over the years, having some good food and drink courtesy of Budweiser and Wild Wing Cafe, and giving away some serious cash and prizes. So come eat with us, drink with us, and weigh in big fish with us.

The event’s undergone a few changes for 2013, the largest being that the event’s primary leaderboard is based on a team’s heaviest single flounder. A red drum TWT is offered, but the primary prizes are based solely on flounder.

And as in years previous, Fisherman’s Post retains its commitment to releasing as many fish alive at the event as possible, so the $20 payouts for the top flounder weighed in alive remain (top 10 fish), and as in past years many will be donated to the UNCW Aquaculture program for research and stock enhancement programs.

Flounder and High-Roller Flounder TWT’s are still a part of the event along with the Red Drum TWT to further fatten lucky anglers’ checks, along with $50 bonuses for the heaviest fish weighed in by Junior, Senior, and Lady anglers. Additionally, All Junior Anglers weighing in fish will receive a Bett’s cast net!

And if you’re a fan of both money and fame, then win the tournament and we guarantee you a spot on the cover of Fisherman’s Post.

There’s much more to talk about, so please check out our tournament booklet and/or website for more details. And please also support our sponsors—they make everything possible.

We’ve already received a lot of positive feedback on the changes we’ve made and a lot of early interest in the event, and we look forward to seeing friends old and new at registration on July 19th.
