Sending Photos

We want your photos. We want you to “Get Posted.”

If you’ve had a good catch, we’d like to get you featured on Fisherman’s Post, and there are three main ways you can get your photo to Fisherman’s Post:

Email
Text
Social Media

Please note:
(1) Sending us photos via social media is often problematic because of the quality of photo that social media produces, so please text or email all photos.
(2) Fisherman’s Post only runs recent photos. Photos more than a couple of weeks old (except in rare circumstances) are not eligible for publication.
(3) By submitting your photo, you give Fisherman’s Post permission to reprint the photo and/or include it online, as well as add your email to our newsletter.

EMAIL
You can send your photos by email to photos@fishermanspost.com.

Photos should be emailed as a JPEG, and please send the photo just as it is when it comes off of the camera/phone. Cropping the photo, reducing the resolution, or tampering with the photo can affect the possibility of Fisherman’s Post running your photo. If your email server asks if you would like to shrink the file size to make the email easier to send, your answer should be “no”.

Scanned photos that are emailed in should be scanned at a resolution equal to or higher than 200 dpi.

Please email the photos as an attachment and include the necessary caption information in the body of the email: names of people in the photo, where the people are from, what the catch is, where the fish was caught (you can be general without giving away any secrets), what the fish was caught on, and anything else you think is of relevance.

If you have any questions about emailing photos, please call or text (910) 452-6378 or email photos@fishermanspost.com for more information.

TEXT
You can text your photos to (910) 452-6378.

Photos should be texted in their original form and in the largest file size. Using filters or other Apps, cropping the photo, reducing the resolution, or tampering with the photo in other ways can affect the possibility of Fisherman’s Post running your photo. If your phone asks if you would like to reduce the file size to make the photo easier to send, your answer should be “no”.

In the same text with the photo, include the necessary caption information: names of people in the photo, where the people are from, what the catch is, where the fish was caught (you can be general without giving away any secrets), what the fish was caught on, and anything else you think is of relevance.

If you have any questions about texting photos, please call or text (910) 452-6378 or email photos@fishermanspost.com for more information.
