Patrick, at Capt. Smiley’s Fishing Charters, reports hit-or-miss fishing with excellent days followed by slow ones. The Little River jetties are still producing red drum around 27″ and flounder up to 6.5 lbs. Peanut pogies and mullet both work, but the fish seem to prefer the pogies.
Sight fishing has been good on the flats, with drum and some flounder biting penny color Gulp shrimp and jerkbaits. Red drum are also biting pogies well in the area around Fort Randall.
Black Drum up to 3 lbs. and some flounder are eating live shrimp in Bonaparte Creek.

Steve, at Sea Hunt Charters, reports excellent dolphin action for those willing to go fishing despite less than ideal forecasts over the week.
The area on the west side of Frying Pan Shoals around the Blackjack has been hot. Dolphin from 5-30 lbs. have been eating ballyhoo with green/blue and pink/yellow skirts. Ilander lures rigged with ballyhoo are also effective.
Trolling the windward edge of a weed line is the best strategy to hook up. Bring plenty of bait to combat tear-offs from smaller fish.
Wahoo from 30-50 lbs. are around the same areas as the dolphin. A red/black skirted ballyhoo fished deep on the downrigger will draw bites from the wahoo.
