Patrick, at Captain Smileys Fishing Charters, reports flounder biting well in and around Tubbs inlet with most fish running 13 to 18 inches. Mud minnows and menhaden are enticing the most strikes. Red drum are biting in Dunn sound and in Little River inlet. Best baits for the redfish have been live baits or the Berkley gulp shrimp. A few speckled trout in the 13 to 20 inch range have been mixed in and are biting better on the higher tides.

Cherry Grove pier reports a few flounder being caught as well as whiting and pompano off the bottom. The live baiters on the end landed a king mackerel this week which was the anglers first.
