Patrick Kelly, of Capt. Smiley Fishing Charters, reports flounder and red drum fishing have been excellent with the Tubbs Inlet area being productive. Most of the flounder action is coming on live mud minnows or gulp sinking minnows while the reds are being sight casted to. The Little River jetties and Dunn Sound are other areas to try. Along the beaches there some some seabass and flounder but not much to report nearshore this week. Boats coming in from the gulf stream are loading up on dolphin with a few tuna and wahoo and one boat had a blue marlin on unfortunately the hook pulled.

Mark Dickson, of Shallow Minded Charters, reports flounder fishing is very good in the Tubbs Inlet area using live menhaden. Some bigger fish are being caught now with some running on up to 6 lbs. The flounder are still biting around Cherry Grove but are smaller right now. Spanish and blues are along the beach and along the jetties. Kings in the 8 to 12 lb. class are being caught on the nearshore wreck while on the Sherman there is some spadefish to be caught and a 25 lb. cobia was caught on a bucktail there this week.
