Patrick, at Captain Smiley’s Fishing Charters, reports that the speckled trout fishing has been very good lately, with fish ranging from 1 to 5 pounds. The shell banks at Fort Randall, the Sunset Beach Bridge, and the Little River jetties have all produced fish on live shrimp or Berkley Gulps under a popping cork.

And the redfish and black drum continue to bite in the Bonaparte Creek area on live shrimp.

Mark, at Shallow Minded Guide Fishing, reports that good speckled trout fishing has been taking place the last week. Fish are hitting live shrimp in the usual trout holes. The trout have been scattered, but most are a good size (in the 2 to 5 pound range). The Sunset Beach Bridge, Marker 19, Tilghman Dock, and the jetties have all been good spots to try.

Redfish are also a little scattered out. There are 16 to 20 inch fish holding in the back of the creeks, and the bigger slot fish (and some over-the-slot) are being caught at the jetties and in the surf. The bite has been inconsistent for the big drum. One day it’s on, and the next day they’re gone.

Flounder fishing has been very good in the inlet and the ocean. In the ocean, try the Jim Caudle Reef and off Cherry Grove. Live mullet is the best bet for the ocean flounder.
