Mark, at Shallow Minded Guide Fishing, reports that fall fishing is in full swing, especially on the rising tides. Speckled trout in the 1 to 3 pound range are being caught along shell beds and at the jetty on live shrimp under corks.

Redfish are also hitting at the jetties, and they have been ranging from 25 to 30 inches. Fish the bottom using live mullet.

Fishing in the ICW with shrimp for trout has been producing both specks and some small stripers in the 16 to 20 inch range. Plenty of shrimp and mullet are around in the creeks to be used for live bait.

Pogies for offshore bait are hanging around just outside the inlet.

The kings are biting well around the 65 Foot Hole and the Jungle.

And grouper in the 15 to 20 pound class are being caught in 65 to 70 feet of water.

Patrick, at Captain Smiley’s Fishing Charters, reports that redfish are biting well around the jetties, Bonaparte Creek, Sunset Beach Bridge, and shell beds in the waterway. They are ranging 15 to 26 inches and hitting live mullet or mud minnows.

Speckled trout are biting on the rising tide around Fort Randall. They’re hitting on Gulps and live shrimp under a float rig.

Bluefish averaging 1 to 2 pounds are biting around the jetties. All you need to do is cast jigs towards the feeding schools.

Flounder are still being caught on live bait in Little River Inlet.

And the Jim Caudle Reef has been productive for bluefish, spanish mackerel, and flounder.
