Brant, at Ocean Isle Fishing Center, reports that very hot temperatures and a full moon this week made for some inconsistent fishing. Kings were scattered in 50 to 70 foot of water, and they ranged from just legal fish to over 25 lbs.
There has also been a deep-water bite for the kings in 120 to 130 foot range. The 25 to 30 mile areas were unfishable due to scattered weeds. There were two sails caught this week in 50 to 80 ft. depths, as well as a few dolphin.
The full moon was good for beeliner and snapper fishing, but it turned off the grouper bite that’s been going on.
Closer to shore, the flounder are biting on nearshore reefs, and red drum action has been best on the Little River jetties.

Hunter, at The Rod and Reel Shop, reports surf fishing has produced spots, whiting, and bluefish. Spanish have been off the beach, with good reports from around Yaupon Reef. Kings and dolphin are biting around 18+ miles offshore. The tower area has been good for snapper and beeliners for bottom fishermen.
Inside, the flounder have slowed somewhat, but the Lockwood Folly River has been a good place to start.
