Brant, at Ocean Isle Fishing Center, reports that the fishing has been slow since the rain. The kings have disappeared, but the bait is still on the beach. With the strong presence of bait, the king fishing should catch fire any day now.

A run of 30+ miles has been needed to find the grouper and snapper as of late.

The best bite lately has been wahoo in the 150 to 180 foot depths, with several 50 pound class fish brought to the scales (along with the smaller ones).

Stan, at Ocean Isle Fishing Center, reports that the big redfish (averaging 30 inches) are being caught around the Little River jetties. They will take live or cut bait.

Flounder fishing has been good around the artificial reefs in the 35 to 40 foot depths. Try using live finger mullet for best results.

In regards to bait, the mullet are very plentiful right now in the creeks and waterway.

Will, at Ocean Isle Pier, reports that the fishing has been slow, but he anticipates an improving bite as the water clears over the coming week.

Anglers fishing shrimp on the bottom are catching some spots and whiting.

A few 15 to 16 inch flounder have been caught on live finger mullet.

The water is 80 degrees.
