Costa Del Mar has been a staple in performance eyewear of watermen and women around the world for over thirty-eight years, offering only the highest quality frames and lenses on the market. This tradition continues with their new line of performance sunglasses, the Untangled Collection. The Untangled Collection sets out not only to establish a new standard in the eyes of performance but also to make waves in the way of ocean conservation.

The four new frames set forth in the collection—the Santiago, Pargo, Antille, and Caleta—are made up of 97% recycled fishing nets from the ocean with a 3% performance additive, and they are paired with the color-enhancing 580 mineral glass lenses. Costa has partnered up with Bureo to give these discarded fishing nets a new life, with this new and revolutionary NetPlus material.

As conscientious anglers in North Carolina, the struggle of losing our own cast nets and fishing lines to the many snags and oyster beds is almost inevitable. Whether that be a redfish wrapping our line around dock pylons or snagging a cast net in a big unseen oyster bed while chasing mullet, the waste certainly adds up. This new collection offers a fantastic opportunity for us anglers to reduce our footprints in our own environment.

The Caleta, in particular, is a monument to the beautiful design and craftsmanship typical among the many Costa Del Mar designs. Named after a small region of coastal coves in the country of Chile, the lines on the sunglasses mirror the beautiful and fluid lines along the landscape of coastal Chile. This style matches wonderfully with the vast fluid landscape of coastal North Carolina, too, whether that be drifting the tidal marshes, cruising the beachfront, or trolling the blue water.

Costa Del Mar has continually separated themselves from the competition by the quality and functionality of their lenses. This is no different with the Untangled Collection, as they feature the famous 580 mineral lenses. These color-enhancing polarized lenses allow anglers to cut through water and minimize sun glare to find what is truly out there.

The Caleta, as well as all the Untangled Collection, is available at local retailers and CostaSunglasses.com.
