Penn’s new Squadron III Inshore and Surf rods bring best-in-class durability and versatility at accessible price points to meet the needs of saltwater anglers, whether they fish from a boat or the beach.

The Squadron III Inshore rods deliver a lightweight, graphite composite blank construction with modified actions for a more parabolic and forgiving bend, making it an ideal rod for fighting hard-charging saltwater species. The rod also features Penn’s virtually indestructible, one-piece, stainless steel Dura-Guides, as well as graphite reel seats and comfortable cork and EVA grips (varies by configuration) that anglers won’t want to put back down.

“The Squadron III line of rods is designed to pair perfectly with the new Penn Battle III spinning reels,” stated Mike Rice, Category Director for Penn.  “This line of rods carries the reputation of being a true saltwater workhorse. Ideally suited for inshore anglers on all coasts.”

The Squadron III Surf rods deliver many of the same durability features as the inshore models, including graphite composite blank construction, Penn Dura-Guides and graphite reel seat, as well as comfortable rubber shrink tube and EVA grips for a traditional style and feel. An ideal match with Penn’s new Squall and Fathom casting reels, the Squadron III surf rods deliver the balance, actions and durability required by serious surf anglers.

Available in 12 different configurations, including 10 spinning and two casting versions, the new Penn Squadron III Inshore rods have an MSRP of $39.99 to $49.99. The Squadron III Surf rods, available in five spinning and four casting configurations, carry an MSRP of $49.99 to $79.99.
