Chris, at East Coast Sports, reports that the high water temperatures are making for the usual mixed bag of summer fishing from the surf. Look for a few pompano, flounder, black drum, and redfish to hit.

Inside, there have been a few flounder and still a few speckled trout. The flounder are on live mullet and mud minnows, and the trout are on live shrimp. There are also some sheepshead in the area.

Off the beach, the dolphin are all small. They are at weed lines at places like 23 Mile Rock and AR368. You can also find lots of kings at the D Buoy.

Jimmy, at Bad Attitude Charters, reports plenty of bait has moved onto the D, E, and F Buoys, and the kings are biting well 10 to 15 miles offshore.

Dolphin are biting as close as 10 miles, and so are sailfish as they make their late summer showing nearshore.

Bottom fishing for red grouper has been very good about 55 miles offshore.

Bottomfish are scattered out with the warm waters, so it may take several moves to fill your cooler.

Eric, at New River Marina, reports that inshore fishing has been very good this week for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. Live shrimp and mullet are working the best in the creeks, river, and waterway.

The bridge has been good for sheepshead and black drum using fiddler crabs and sand fleas.

Off the beach, the king mackerel and dolphin are biting well around the E and D Buoys, as well as the Christmas Rock area.

Gulf stream reports were good for white marlin and wahoo.

Vinita, at Surf City Pier, reports that spot and whiting are biting shrimp and bloodworms on the bottom.

Flounder in the 2 pound class are biting minnows in the mornings.

Diamond jigs are producing spanish mackerel, and bluefish are hitting diamond jigs and Gotcha plugs.

A 17 lb. king mackerel was caught this week.

The pier water temperature is 84 degrees

Wayne, at Sea View Pier, reports that speckled trout up to 3 lbs. are biting live shrimp and finger mullet.

Black drum up to 2.5 lbs., small spots, and whiting are biting bottom rigs. Shrimp will work for all three, but sand fleas are best for the black drum.

Flounder are around, but not many people are fishing for them.

Bluefish and scattered spanish mackerel have been caught on plugs.

Several kings up to 15 lbs. were caught this week.

The water at the pier is 83 degrees.
