Patrick Kelly, at Captain Smiley’s Fishing Charters, reports a few small cobia still hanging around the Little River jetties. There are also some big redfish (over 30 inches) around the jetties. Weather has made fishing challenging, but spanish are waiting just outside the inlet. In the shallows, the red drum and flounder are willing to bite live baits and Berkley Gulp baits.

Steve, at Cherry Grove Pier, reports that before the weekend they caught a couple of kings, but no big fish since then. The blues and spanish have been pretty strong, with mackerel jig rigs using gold hooks as one of the best methods recently.
There’s been some flounder being caught, and they are mostly 16-18″ with only a few throwbacks.
The whiting are still biting. Sheepshead are around, but they haven’t been able to get them to bite recently.
