Brant, at Ocean Isle Fishing Center, reports that offshore fishing remains excellent when the weather allows a trip. Gag grouper are holding in the 65-90 foot areas and slowly moving to deeper water.

Kings are biting very well in the 80-100 foot areas, as well as at the Frying Pan Tower area. Live bait can be jigged off wrecks or out of the huge bait balls moving offshore.

The gulf stream has been decent for wahoo and blackfin tuna.

Several reports of bluefins are coming in from the Fairway, Knuckle Buoy, and the Horseshoe.

Stan, at Ocean Isle Fishing Center, reports excellent speckled trout fishing recently, and it should continue through December. The trout are averaging 2-3 pounds, and the best technique has been using live shrimp under corks.

Artificials will begin to work better as the shrimp move out of the creeks.

The jetties, shell banks, and bridges have been the best spots to target, with the jetty yielding some bigger fish (over 4 pounds).

Redfish are around and being caught by the trout fishermen, but the flounder have been few and far between lately.
