Operation North State (ONS) and its supporters and volunteers are calling out for support for the upcoming 11th Annual Peer Fishin’ Festival. The Festival will be held Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23 (rain or shine) on the Oak Island Fishing Pier.
Operation North State, the Oak Island Fishing Pier, and the community will host 500-550 folks (wounded warriors/DVets, their respective guests, sponsors, pier mates, and volunteers) over the five days of fun, fishing, and fellowship. Â
The 11th Annual Peer Fishin’ Festival is free to wounded warriors/DVets and their respective guests. They are required to have some percentage of VA disability rating to participate.Â
Each wounded warrior/DVet and their respective guests will receive free daily fishing passes, fishing equipment (if needed), cut bait, refreshments, lunch, and now dinner is provided, too.Â
For wounded warriors/DVets to participate, send an email to mailbox@operationnorthstate.com or call (336) 764-5967. Provide your name, email address, branch of service, from what year to what year you served, and percentage of disability. ONS doesn’t share this information with anyone. Â
ONS is requesting assistance and participation in the Festival as follows:Â
(1) A few spots are still available for wounded warriors/DVets to attend.Â
(2) Serve as a Pier Mate: assist a group of wounded warriors/DVets on the pier.
(3) Donate products, services, and/or cash for the dinner, snacks, beverages, and prizes.
(4) Provide a covered dish for the weekly breakfasts, lunches, and/or snacks.
(5) Come visit the pier on Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23, and cheer on these Special Americans.Â
For additional information and/or to show your support, contact Terry Snyder, ONS Founder/Volunteer, at mailbox@operationnorthstate.com or call (336) 764.5967.
