With design features that enhance the dependability and resiliency of this expansive rod line, the new PENN Battalion II line of inshore and surf rods brings serious upgrades to an already battle-tested line of rods.

“Both the inshore and surf models in the Battalion II line are upgraded with Fuji Alconite guides, and new design features that enhance the rods’ dependability and resiliency,” stated Mike Rice, Category Director for PENN. “The new Battalion II line of rods is destined to become the workhorse for serious inshore and surf anglers.”

Battalion II inshore rods are the next generation of super-light-yet-powerful inshore rods. The blanks feature new SLC2 construction with inner spiral carbon wraps and outer layers of longitudinal carbon fibers to provide a strong, well-balanced rod. The Fuji Alconite guides and reel seat provide a durable, premium feel to the rods, which offer the actions and durability to do battle with even the fiercest saltwater species.

With 19 different models (15 spinning, 4 casting), the Battalion II inshore rods have an MSRP ranging from $99.95 to $129.95.

PENN’s Battalion II surf rods provide excellent strength, performance, and style with graphite composite blank construction, Fuji Alconite guides, Fuji reel seats, and tough, easy-to-grip rubber shrink tube-wrapped handles. Ideally suited for matching with the PENN Squall and Fathom casting reels, the new Battalion II surf rods feature the actions and durable performance serious surf anglers require.

Included in PENN’s new line of Battalion II surf rods is a specially crafted Ulua model, with a length and action designed specifically to match the needs of the Hawaiian Ulua angler. This rod features a graphite composite blank for strength, as well as indestructible Caxin guides, and a stainless-steel rod butt.

In all, there are 13 configurations in the Battalion II surf rod line, including seven spinning and six casting. MSRPs for the standard Battalion II surf rods run from $99.95 to $139.95, with the specialty Ulua rod at $179.95.
