Tommy, at Long Beach Pier, reports okay fishing for the warm weather that is going on. Flounder were caught on live baits, but fish were running smaller than last week. The trout bite was good, with fish running up to 3 lbs. Whiting dominated the bottom catch, but there are also plenty of spots and bluefish to be caught as well.

Dave, at Ocean Crest Pier, reports that flounder were running smaller this week, but there were still keeper fish hitting live bait. A few spanish were caught, and the speckled trout are running in the 2 to 3 lb. class and hitting mullet or live shrimp. Bottom fishing is producing pompano up to just under 2 lbs. The bottom fishing bite has also produced whiting, spots, and small black drum. Tarpon have been spotted just off the beach out of the reach of pier fishermen, but there is plenty of mullet and menhaden around the pier to keep them nearby.
