Live bait fishing can take on numerous forms. Over the years, ANGLERS have found that keeping a fresh bait ready to pitch to a curious and active pelagic species when trolling or kite fishing is imperative. Whether you are preparing to deploy kite baits quickly, keeping little tunny or spanish mackerel alive with plenty of water flow until they are hooked up, as well as having a system ready for any boat, was a challenge. Hooker Pumps has cured this problem with their new Live Bait Tube Bucket.
This is a complete, portable live bait system that does not require complicated plumbing to keep the recirculation system running optimally. To help keep a free flow of water through the gills of live bait while waiting to bridle or hook them to a live bait rig, Hooker Pumps developed an efficient system that fits completely into a five-gallon bucket.
The patent-pending live bait system has an internal submersible water pump that cycles the water from the bottom, pushing a consistent water flow through three standard 10” bait tubes. For convenience, the kit is equipped with a six-foot, unrigged wire that allows the owner to choose the specific plug that matches their boat’s electrical connection in their 12V system.
The live bait is placed nose first into one of the three tubes, which simply slides into place with no connections, until it is ready to remove for rigging. The water then flows over the tubes and back down into the bucket, resulting in the water being cooled and aerated. The system is designed to bleed off any air bubbles to assure the bait stays lively and survives hours of fishing.
Hooker Pumps has made its reputation in the industry by developing and outfitting premium brands of boats with the most efficient and powerful Hi-Flow series of pumps in the industry. The Live Bait Tube Bucket is no exception to the quality, design, and innovation the company is known for.
Staying ready and maximizing your fishing time is enhanced by this very compact and efficient system that retails for $299.99. You can find out more about this and other Hooker Pumps offerings by visiting their website at www.hookerpumps.com.
